Maybe 4 or 5 bucks? Perhaps a tad more if you’re at a sporting event.

Hold on to your buns because there's now a $100 hot dog. On a fresh-baked croissant bun, the “Golden Glizzy” layers creme fraiche, mascarpone, caviar, and 24-carat edible gold flakes. And somewhere in there is a weenie.

This delicacy appeared at the Formula One Grand Prix and the Miami Open tennis tournament, selling out at both. 

Someone once had to confidently pitch this in a meeting. Imagine that. But nobody laughed them out of the building.

That’s why bad-sounding ideas always deserve a hearing.
