NOVEMBER 2025 Writers Workshop

Writing Children’s Picture Books (featuring Korena Di Roma Howley)

Ever dreamed of writing a children’s picture book?

Wondering how to break into the children’s publishing world?

In this practical workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • Spark story ideas that connect with young readers

  • Shape your manuscript with the right picture book structure and pacing

  • Understand today’s children’s publishing landscape and where your story fits

  • Query agents and submit your work with confidence

This free Williamsburg Regional Library workshop is presented by Korena Di Roma Howley, author of Sarang Saves the School, which is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selection. Her second picture book is coming in 2026 from Candlewick Press. The workshop is led by Brian Forrester, the author of two young adult novels and an award-winning copywriter for a Williamsburg marketing agency.
